Daniel Ricciardo of Red Bull grabbed his first win of the 2017 Formula 1 Championship (where many teams involved are equipped by BMC) during a thrilling Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), who recovered from last place after a first-lap collision with Kimi Raikkonen, took the second place from the rookie Lance Stroll (Williams), the big surprise and the new record man of the GP.
At 18 years and 239 days, Stroll is the second youngest person to stand on the rostrum in F1 history, behind only Max Verstappen, who was 12 days younger when he won in Spain last year.
However, Stroll is the youngest rookie to stand on the podium - Verstappen’s rostrum coming in his second year in Grand Prix racing.
Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) and Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) arrived, respectively, 4th (with 10 seconds stop-and-go penalty) and 5th, after a controversial incident behind the Safety car and finished,
Vettel (153 points) leads Hamilton (139), by 14 points in the drivers' championship, followed by Bottas (111), Ricciardo (92), Raikkonen 73.
