Porsche wins at Road America

The Porsche 963 entrusted by the Stuttgart company to Team Penske triumphed at Road America with the Campbell/Nasr duo, gaining the second victory of the season in the American Endurance Championship after the one of their teammates in Long Beach.

This time the car with the #7 stood out above all. Starting from the first box of the grid thanks to the accident of the Cadillac #31, which then sprinted from the back, the German GTP prototype prevailed for the whole race, with a solid and always growing pace. First the Australian, who then gave way to his Brazilian crew-mate, was able to complete fast laps right from the start, which allowed him to open an important gap with his pursuers.

Once he handed the wheel to Nasr the story did not change and the Porsche arrived unchallenged at the finish line. A great demostration of strength for the team that took its second victory of the season in the IMSA SportsCar Championship after the one obtained in the second round of the championship in California.

In that round, it was car #6 that triumphed and therefore now both prototypes of the American team boast a success. A good sign for the season finale. The car is competitive and now we just need to find a little more luck. Already from the next round in Virginia there may be the right opportunity to seek victory again.
