Pata Yamaha Prometeon WSBK Team recovers points in France

The Pata Yamaha Prometeon World SBK Team returns from Magny-Cours with a good haul of points, including two wins and a second place.

Notwithstanding the difficulties on Saturday when Toprak Razgatlıoğlu failed to get on the front row in Superpole, the Turkish rider made up for it in the race. In the first of the two races of the French weekend the #54 rider on the Yamaha R1 triumphed after a close battle with his rivals from the Ducati Aruba Racing Team. With braking at the limit and then a crescendoing pace toprak opened a gap with his pursuers in just a few laps, which allowed him to arrive, calmly, first at the finish line.

Andrea Locatelli, after receiving a penalty in qualifying, started tenth. In Race 1 he made a comeback that allowed him to climb up to sixth place and fight for the top five with Petrucci (Team Ducati Barni). After a close fight the #55 rider had to settle for sixth place overall, which still allowed him to collect important points.

In the Superpole Race Toprak was the protagonist of another fierce melee with Bautista and Rinaldi. The Turk, author of incredible overtaking moves, then decided to push and increase his pace, which allowed him, also thanks to a crash between the two Ducati riders, to take the edge and escape to victory. In doing so he took pole position for Race 2. In the last race of Round 09, however, the 2022 World Champion got the better of the crowd, winning ahead of Razgatlıoğlu and his Yamaha, who finished the weekend in second place, but recovering a few points in the world ranking.

Locatelli also had a positive Sunday: in the Superpole Race he recovered up to fourth place and this allowed him to start on the second row for the afternoon race. In Race 2 the Italian rider, after a bad start, recovered and finished fourth again, confirming once more his place in the top five.

Next round from 22 to 24 September at Aragon!
